How the taximeter counts

It counts kilometres when the car is moving and time when it is stopped or in a queue.

€1.00 per km · when traffic flows

In town the taximeter goes up by €0.10 every 100 metres after the first 1.5 km, and counts time when the car is stopped or in a queue. If you go outside the city it counts €2.14 per km from the start of the ride, because the price includes the taxi's empty return.

Surcharges

What is added to the taximeter

The driver must tell you which surcharges apply and explain them if you ask.

Tolls and VAT

Motorway tolls, tunnels and ferries are paid by the customer. Beyond 50 km, 10% VAT is added.
